About this Beach: Located right in the heart of Torrevieja, this is one of the most famous urban beaches in the area. It is a sweeping bay of fine sand bordered by a bustling palm-lined promenade packed with exceptional tapas bars, restaurants, and ice cream shops. Because the waters are beautifully calm, it’s a brilliant spot for an easy swim or an evening walk.

The Vibe: Cozy & Relaxed.

Walking Distance: Less than a 5-minute walk south (it sits right between Playa de Los Locos and Playa del Cura).

About this Beach: If you want a quick break from the wider crowds, this charming little cove is shaped like a small natural swimming pool. It is surrounded by low rocky edges and shallow, crystal-clear water, making it a peaceful little nook to pull up a beach chair or dip your feet in on your way into town.

About this Beach: Heading just slightly north of Playa de Los Locos leads you to a beautiful string of small, rugged rocky coves (including Cala Carral and Cala Cornuda). Because of the rocky seabed, these coves are paradise for snorkeling and skin diving, offering clear water filled with local marine life away from the heavy sandy crowds.

The Vibe: Wide, Spacious & Natural.

Walking Distance: A longer, scenic 35-40 minute walk north along the coast (or a quick 5-minute hop on the local Line A bus).

About this Beach: If you love long walks right along the shoreline, this is the ultimate destination. La Mata is the longest beach in Torrevieja, stretching over 2 kilometers of wide, pristine sand dunes. It has a gorgeous wooden boardwalk, fantastic beachfront chiringuitos (beach bars), and is known for slightly bigger Mediterranean waves.
